Because Magento databases are very large and phpMyAdmin has limits on what it can handle in exporting databases. A quicker way to get a full Dump to download would be to use Kloxo’s Database Backup Tool. Here are the steps to do that. Also included at the bottom is how to upload that database again to restore it. This can be really useful if you have production and development installations of Magento.
- Search “mysql” in the search bar inside your Kloxo panel then look for “Mysql Databases” inside the Domains box. Click on “Mysql Databases”.
- From Mysql Databases screen, click on the name of the database that you want to download.
- At the top of the Database Screen click on the “Get Backup” tab. This will start the database dump process and you will soon have a file to download. Be patient for large databases and wait for the file to be ready for download before browsing away from this page.
If you need to restore your database from a backup saved locally on your computer, or your moving it to another server or database on the same server. Its easy to use the restore tab in Kloxo to upload you database file.
Follow steps 1 & 2 from above, and then at the top of the Database Screen click on the “Restore” tab.
